Rodney is an Austin native and retired Austin Police Officer and Detective. He has also been employed by Austin PD in a civilian capacity as a Breath Test Operator on the Mobile Breath Alcohol Testing Unit, commonly referred to as the "Bat Bus" where, during his tenure there, conducted approximately 2000 breath tests.

Prior to his retirement as a commissioned peace officer, his last 12 years at APD were spent as a Sergeant-Detective in various assignments, including Robbery, Organized Crime and the Child Abuse Investigative Unit where he was assigned for nearly 6 years.

In a working relationship for more than 30 years, Rodney works with Les in conducting private investigations which has shown to be a valuable asset for both in locating elusive individuals for service of process.

Just recently, Lester Johnson Investigations was contracted to locate an individual and perform process service in a case that the Travis County Sheriff's Office had been unsuccessful in tracking down for service. As a result, Lester Johnson Investigations not only located and served the defendant, they also located and recovered a hidden aircraft that the defendant had been hiding from the bank.

Les has owned and operated Lester Johnson Investigations in Austin for more than 35 years, specializing in Criminal Defense investigations.

He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his ability to assist Criminal Defense attorneys in making it possible for their clients to be exonerated of charges filed against them. Les is also a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
